When I auditioned for “The Minotaur,” I won a callback. The role of Psyche came down to me and Shyla (who goes by “Shy,” even though she’s the opposite of shy ha). In helping us work on our weak spots, the producer offered me and Shy the chance to experience FIRSTHAND the philosophy behind the show.
The name of the philosophy is called “The Way of The River Lynx.” It comes from a culture called “The Macrobi” who live in a remote village on a Mountain in upstate New York. The basic idea is that we can marry body and soul–and that includes sex.
Experiencing this philosophy firsthand is what has been so life-changing about my audition for “The Minotaur.” I mean, this is why I started this blog! To record my exploration/application of this philosophy, both in words and images.
So, these are the images I’ve been taking where I practice the marriage of body and soul. They fall into three basic niches:
Thanks for taking the time to check these out. I love this philosophy so much–especially since it seems to be an alternative to the Cartesian view that so dominates modernity. Maybe together we can move towards a better world where there’s more “soul,” not just material abundance (so the two can be married, not divorced).
