Day 2-Follow Your Heart
I spent a while trying to please, to get status… until I stopped to listen to my heart.
I was on my way to becoming an accountant, wanting so much to become somebody… until I came across a notice for an audition (for an erotic dance show).
I was torn: stay on the safe side or take the risk and audition at 30. Isn’t that too old to audition? What if I fail?
But my desire to dance has been in my heart since I was a girl. (Reading Rumi helped, too.)
I went for it. It wasn’t easy. But I found my heart again–the true treasure.
In hindsight, I wonder if the sadness I felt was a sign to change? I think the big question to ask ourselves is, what’s in the heart? And to follow that…
